"Hey Lykkers, guess where we are! Yes, you've got it! We’re on the magical Pancha Island, a tiny paradise tucked away in the middle of the ocean."

Our adventure here has been absolutely unforgettable, and we can't wait to share it all with you!

Discovering the Lighthouse and Breathtaking Views

Pancha Island is famous for its beautiful lighthouse, which stands majestically at the edge of the island. The lighthouse was first lit in the late 19th century and is still operational today. We climbed up the hill to get there, and the view from the top was stunning—ocean as far as the eye could see. What made it even more memorable was the peaceful solitude, as there weren’t many tourists around. It was just us and the sound of the waves.

The best part? You can visit the lighthouse any day of the week from 10 AM to 6 PM, and the entry is free! While there, don’t forget to bring your camera—those panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean are something you’ll want to capture.

Adventuring to the Caves

One of the lesser-known attractions on Pancha Island is the network of coastal caves, shaped by years of erosion. As we ventured deeper into these naturally formed wonders, we heard the thrilling sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. Exploring these caves felt like stepping into another world, especially with the way the sunlight streamed in, casting dramatic shadows.

If you’re an adventurer, you’ll love the cave exploration tours that start at 11 AM and 2 PM daily. The guided tour lasts about two hours and costs €15 per person. It’s a bit of a workout, but so worth it for the experience and the stories you’ll take home!

A Hidden Gem: Playa Secreta

Not far from the caves, we stumbled upon Playa Secreta, a small hidden beach with crystal-clear waters and soft, golden sand. We spent a couple of hours just lounging in the sun, soaking in the tranquility. It’s easy to miss, as there are no signs pointing to it—but that’s what makes it so special! We practically had the entire beach to ourselves.

Pro tip: Visit early in the morning for the best chance to enjoy this secluded spot without interruptions. And yes, it’s free to enter!

Where to Stay: Faro Lodge

If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s as unique as the island itself, Faro Lodge is the answer. Located near the lighthouse, this boutique hotel is housed in a former lighthouse keeper's residence. The cozy rooms have stunning views of the sea, and there’s even a terrace where you can enjoy your morning coffee as the sun rises over the horizon.

The prices are quite reasonable, too. Expect to pay around €120 per night for a double room, with breakfast included. Faro Lodge also offers bike rentals, which is a great way to explore the island at your own pace.

Practical Information for Your Trip

Getting to Pancha Island is an adventure in itself. The island is accessible by a small bridge connected to the mainland, and you can either drive or take a short ferry ride. If you’re coming by car, there’s a parking lot near the lighthouse, which makes it super convenient. Just remember to bring comfortable shoes, as most of the island’s attractions involve a bit of walking.

Don’t forget to pack snacks and water, as there aren’t many shops or restaurants on the island. If you do fancy a meal, there’s a quaint seafood restaurant right by the ferry dock where we had the freshest fish we’ve ever tasted!
