Body lotions can be very hit or miss—some smell amazing but don’t hydrate enough, while others work wonders but lack in scent.

After finishing and testing these properly, here’s my honest breakdown based on both hydration and fragrance.

1. Sunday Riley Body Cream

This lotion may not win first place for scent, but the hydration level is unreal. The formula sinks into the skin and leaves it unbelievably soft for hours. Dryness disappears almost instantly, and my skin feels smooth, nourished, and comfortable all day long. Even though the fragrance isn’t my favourite, the results are more than enough to make me keep using it.

2. Josie Maran Body Butter

A dream for both the nose and the skin. This lotion feels nourishing and comforting, and the scent is warm and luxurious. It moisturises well and keeps the skin soft, though it leans more toward everyday hydration rather than intense repair. A great balance of performance and fragrance.

3. Rare Beauty Body Lotion

This one smells absolutely divine—clean, calming, and very spa-like. It does a great job at reducing dryness and getting rid of that ashy look, making the skin appear healthier and more polished. While the hydration is solid, it doesn’t reach that ultra-rich level. Still, it’s a lovely everyday option, especially for scent lovers.

4. L’Occitane Hand Lotion

This is hands-down the best hand cream I’ve ever used. The texture is rich but absorbs quickly, leaving hands soft and buttery without any greasy residue. It’s perfect for constant reapplication throughout the day. The scent reminds me of baby powder, which isn’t my favourite, but the results are too good to ignore.

Each of these lotions shines in its own way, whether through intense hydration or an amazing scent. Some are skincare heroes despite their fragrance, while others feel like a treat every time you apply them. At the end of the day, soft, nourished skin always wins.
