We may notice the temperature rising more often when driving slowly because there is less natural airflow. If the radiator looks dirty, we can have its outer surface cleaned carefully. However, we should wait until the engine has cooled before inspecting it closely. Pouring cold water over a very hot engine can create a sudden temperature change and cause damage.
<h3>Inspect the Thermostat</h3>
The thermostat controls coolant flow as the engine warms up. It helps the engine reach its normal operating range and then allows coolant to move through the cooling system when additional cooling is needed.
