Milky skincare has become one of my favourite ways to add comfort without making a routine feel overloaded.

These three look similar at first glance, but the textures and the role I would give each one in my routine are noticeably different.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence is technically an essence rather than a toner, and I would treat it as the more nourishing step of the three. The milky formula has a soft, comforting character that makes it especially appealing when my skin feels dry or needs something gentler after cleansing. I prefer applying it with my hands rather than a cotton pad so I can press the product directly into the skin and avoid wasting the richer texture. It leaves my complexion feeling smoother and more cushioned, so this is the one I would reach for in the evening or during colder weather when a very lightweight toner does not feel quite enough.

Tirtir Milk Skin Toner

Tirtir Milk Skin Toner gives me the classic milky-toner experience: fluid enough to spread quickly, but noticeably more comforting than a transparent watery formula. I like using it when my skin looks a little flat because the finish appears fresh and softly luminous without feeling like I have added another heavy skincare layer. It works particularly well in a morning routine, when I want hydration before serum, moisturiser and make-up but do not want too many rich textures sitting underneath. Of these three, this is the one I associate most with that smooth, well-hydrated skin finish people usually expect from a milky toner.

Anua Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner

Anua Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner is the option I would choose when I want hydration with a lighter, more straightforward finish. The bottle identifies it as a rice-and-ceramide milky toner, and its fluid texture makes it easy to distribute without needing much product. It layers neatly into a longer routine and feels especially practical on days when I plan to use several skincare steps afterwards. Compared with the Haruharu Wonder essence, it feels less substantial, while next to Tirtir it comes across as the more everyday, uncomplicated choice. I would pick it when I want my skin to feel comfortable and refreshed without adding too much richness.

The Haruharu Wonder essence is my choice when I want the most comforting layer, while Tirtir suits days when I am after a fresher, more luminous finish. Anua is the easiest everyday option of the three, especially when I want a milky step that still feels light and simple.
